Kyle Martin

Kyle Martin is a political philosopher specializing in the study of conscience. His work focuses on theories of conscience in American and European political and philosophical thought from the eighteenth century to the present. His other academic interests include the study of mind, the history of philosophy and science, theories of liberalism, and the relationship between religion and politics. His work has been published in American Political Thought.
At UNC, he also serves as the Director of SCiLL’s Summer Civics Institutes which offer students and teachers from across North Carolina the opportunity to study primary sources from the American political tradition. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Houston, a BA in Cinema and Media Arts from Biola University, and he is an alumnus of the Torrey Honors College at Biola University where he has also taught.
