Connor Grubaugh is a political theorist and intellectual historian who studies concepts of hope, time, and history in political thought. His current book project examines these themes in John Locke and the subsequent liberal tradition. His research is published or forthcoming in Perspectives on Politics and other journals, and his writing has also appeared in popular outlets such as First Things, Tablet, and Compact. He serves as editor of the interdisciplinary humanities journal Politics & Poetics, and he holds a doctorate from the University of Oxford. He will begin his appointment as an assistant professor at SCiLL on July 1, 2025, after a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University.
